The following are all the documents you will need to send to the Village for building...click each of the links for the attached documents
1) PERMIT PROCESS - please read this FIRST so you understand the whole process. Any structure over 100 sq feet needs a building permit.
2) Are you planning to DEVELOP your lot? You require a Development Permit Application to meet zoning standards. Please include a site plan drawing that shows the location of your building(s) with all measurements to the property lines. The document outlines all the details that have to be included on the site plan. Fees apply.
3) Are you planning to BUILD on your lot? You require the above AND Municode request for service form and Building Permit Application form. Building drawings must accompany this application. Fees apply.
A valid Village building permit WILL NOT be issued until all paperwork is received, approved and the invoice for services paid in full.
If you are adding on any accessory buildings you will have to fill in the following worksheets in addition to above:
4) Adding on an ATTACHED GARAGE? Click Attached Garage Worksheet for the paperwork to attach to 2) and 3)
5) Building a DECK? Click Deck Worksheet for the paperwork to attach to 2) and 3)
6) Building a DETACHED GARAGE? Click Detached Garage Worksheet for the paperwork to attach to 2) and 3)
7) Building a SHED? Anything over 100 sf feet needs a permit. Submit paperwork for 2) and 3)
Moving in a Building? A site plan must be done up first with documents from step 2) The building MUST be inspected where it is located by Municode (fill in the Municode request for service form) OR another qualified building official. An Inspection Certificate must be given to Municode if inspection was done by another party. If you are placing the building on a foundation then please fill out the items in 3) as well. There is an Application Permit to Move for this as well. Sarah's Cove has additional restrictions for moving in a building.
